Killing Me Softly

What happens when the debris of conflict is stripped of its destructive intent and re-imagined as an adornment for the living?

Killing Me Softly is a speculative exploration of catharsis, transformation, and emotional survival. The collection breathes new life into spent bullet casings gathered directly from the ground in regions deeply impacted by unrest. Once engineered to silence, these harsh metallic remnants are meticulously reshaped and elevated into wearable art, acting as physical manifestations of psychological release and collective healing.

The jewelry establishes a provocative dialogue between contrasting textures and histories. Raw brass casings hang alongside delicate strands of luminous pearls, striking a tense yet beautiful balance between past trauma and future renewal. Intricately integrated into the designs are dark wooden crosses and actual violin pegs, blending the sacred with the sonic. These elements transform the jewelry from silent artifacts into instruments of a universal language—one that reframes grief into a powerful statement of resilience.

By merging the cold reality of ammunition with symbols of purity, culture, and music, Killing Me Softly challenges the viewer to look beyond devastation. It speculates a world where the tools of destruction can be permanently disarmed, repurposed, and reborn as quiet yet undeniable monuments of grace, hope, and human triumph.
